It’s a good thing I buy all my clothes when Macy’s marks ‘em down…the suit I was wearing last night is doing its impression of a dishrag after last nights deluge. I went to the annual awards dinner that Gifts & Decorative Accessories (an industry trade magazine) throws. Homescapes was an award winner last year (thank-you, thank-you-very-much)and that got me a freebie to this years cruise on the Hudson. Gifts & Dec usually does its gala at The Plaza, but they changed venues this year just in time for a monster storm.
But a little rain sure beats muggy, so it was all good. The dinner was on this really cool barge-like boat and in all these 20 years of living in and/or visiting New York I’ve never done a water tour, so I got to play tourist and gawk at the Statue of Liberty.
I can’t say I’m lovin’ the Gift Show, though. After last months buying trip to Indonesia and last weeks buying jaunt in S.F. I’m WAY more than a little sick of looking at stuff.
Of course, since this is a work blog, maybe I should pretend I’m excited.
Wait until you see all the fantastic and exciting merchandise available soon at Homescapes, Carmel…
Yah, yah. True, but still too Madison-Avenue slick. You wouldn’t want me to start acting professional, now would ya?
