Since 2005 Thompson has been a contributing writer and Advisory Board member for Homestyle by the Sea, a Home and Garden magazine featuring resources and lifestyle articles focused on the Monterey Peninsula communities of Big Sur, Pebble Beach, Carmel and Santa Cruz. Thompson writes the Details column, promoting local businesses and products.
Carmel Pine Cone Articles
In 2008 Thompson was elected to serve as Board Chair of the Carmel Chamber of Commerce. As part of his duties, he wrote a monthly column for the Carmel Pine Cone, writing about businesses and events in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
2007 ARTS Book
In 2006 and 2007, Homescapes Carmel, the lifestyle store in Carmel, California that Thompson and his brother Beau own and manage, was named best “Furniture Store, Western U.S.” by the Dallas, TX based Accessories Resource Team. As part of the judging for the ARTS awards, Thompson and his sister, Keri Marion, produced a book defining the design aesthetic and history of Homescapes Carmel.
Home Accents Today
From 2004 through 2008, Thompson was on the Retail Advisory Board for the industry magazine, Home Accents Today. In “The Import Option,” a column he wrote for HomeAccentsToday.com, Thompson advises readers about the trials and tribulations of sourcing and importing items from around the world. Read more…
